Fright Night Tan

Who is that girl anyway? ttyl

Reader submission: Just a bit of blotchy bronzer

The reader says:
Hello E.O.

My friend...is naturally this brown and not to be mocked. She deliberately had this pic taken with this guy to show how ridiculous his fake tan was compared to her real one! She tried hard not to laugh at him in this pic. He seems to think he's a babe magnet and needs his arrogance and tan bringing down a few notches!

Thankyou!

p.s. i realize this guy isn't even in the same league as some of the others but any special occasion or ball and ppl will smear on the mucky fake tan!
Sadly, my skin must have looked like this guy's back around 2002 when I applied bronzer. It gives you this blotchy, unnatural, unhealthy look on your face. When I stopped putting that crap on my face I remember these two girls saying, "wow, what did you do? You look good! Whatever you're doing, keep doing it!" The only thing I had changed was that I stopped bronzing. Do less and look better, awesome!

Exceeding the U.S. RDA for copper

The U.S. Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) for copper is 900 micrograms for adults. This woman looks like she eats a kilogram.

Ex-Countrywide Financial CEO Angelo Mozilo: The Orange Ogre

This guy is known for his horrible tan, getting sued by the US Securities Exchange Commission, and accidentally hitting reply instead of forward on an email criticizing someone seeking loan help. FYI I agree with Mozilo's email in that many people seeking loan help need to stop living beyond their means. However, Mozilo should have spent less time tinting his body orange and more time on preventing Countrywide's collapse.

For the love of no God...Donatella Versace

She looks like one big piece of beef jerky. I'm sorry I had to show you this...but I did you the favor of covering up some of her nastiness.

She's kind of like this bacon man cooking in the sun:

Somewhat related, recently CNN had an article entitled "Indoor tanning linked to addictive behaviors":

Long overdue: Ganguro, Yamanba, & Manba, part 1

People have been emailing me pics of this Ganguro phenomenon since November (thanks Kristina S. and Andrea). According to Wikipedia,
"Ganguro (ガングロ; "Black Face") is an alternative fashion trend of blonde or orange hair and tanned skin among young Japanese women that peaked in popularity around the year 2000, but remains evident today."
There are different versions of Ganguro, including the more hardcore Yamanba and Manba.
"Yamanba (ヤマンバ?) and manba (マンバ?)....terms often used to describe extreme practitioners of ganguro fashion....The term yamanba derives from Yama-uba, the name of a mountain hag in Japanese folklore whom the fashion is thought to resemble."
When your look is described as "mountain hag", you might want to change up your whole style.
"One of the most famous early ganguro girls was known as Buriteri, nicknamed after the black soy sauce used to flavor yellowtail fish in teriyaki cooking. Egg made her a star by frequently featuring her in its pages during the height of the ganguro craze. After modeling and advertising for the Shibuya tanning salon "Blacky", social pressure and negative press convinced Buriteri to retire from the ganguro lifestyle.[3]"
"Blacky" is the worst name for a tanning salon I've ever heard.

Real friends don't let friends orange up

It would be funny if the regular guys didn't even know the orange dude; the orange guy just jumped in at the last second for a photocrash.

Bonus: Full uncropped Sweedos photo

This classic Sweedos photo is one of the most popular bronzer fails floating around the internet. Most of the time though you see the normal guy on the left cropped out. Here is the full pic in all of its glory.

She's baaaAAAAAAaaaack

The tan isn't as hardcore as before, but the eyebrows, hair, and the kissy face are still there.

She's wearing so much bronzer that it's weighing down her head

Her friend has to support her friend's orangish brown head on her shoulder.

Reader submission: She matched her face to her dress, but not her arm

Our reader says:
WTF!? I thought this was a drag queen. Unfortunately, its not.
P.s. look at her face compared to her arm..Hahaha!
In site news, I've begun the laborious process of putting a mundane watermark on most of the pics on this site. I should have done this from the get go, but then again I never expected this site to get popular. Basically I got tired of seeing other sites out there jack my entire site's contents with no credit whatsoever, including pics that were 100% original to PaleIsTheNewTan.com. Some go as far as cutting out the original pic's watermark and putting their own over it. Disgraceful. Yeah German site and unoriginal fail clone, I'm talking about you (Thanks to Emily from theberry.com for pointing this out).
I always try to give credit where credit is due, so if I'm missing an appropriate source link to a picture, please let me know. Laterz

Another pic of the classic "Sweedos"

Back in November we showed you the very popular Sweedos. Here is another pic from the same night. Thanks to dkbn.dk for the pic. In Sweden's defense, dkbn.dk is a Danish site. I wish it wasn't since I'm of 1/8th Danish heritage :(

Tanning Intervention With the Cast of "Jersey Shore"!

This is awesome. The movie "Twilight" came out and really helped the "Pallor Movement" as I like to call it. Then the TV show "Jersey Shore" came out and regained some territory for the tanning movement. Now, even the Jersey Shore cast knows that tanning (at least real tanning) is unhealthy for you and causes skin cancer.
Thanks to www.skincancer.org for putting this video up.

In site news, I caved in and started a Facebook page and a Twitter page for the site. Check out the links at the right of the page to join up.

Reader submission: Sweden's Paris Hilton?

The pics are from the girl's blog at kissies.se. Her name is Alexandra Nilsson and her blog can pretty much be summed up as "pure vanity", as she documents her cosmetic procedures, clothing purchases, tanning, etc. Her tan can be described as "wearing goggles in a sandstorm".
Thanks to Linnea for sending me this way back in December.

Sun burns are bad, mmmKay?

Thanks to theBerry.com, formerly known as sheChive.com, for the pics. The site op Emily is very nice. It's a great site, check it out!

I decided to put up some real tans: bad tan lines and sunburns. This is to commemorate the shady mole I had cut out of my left calf on Wednesday that could have possibly turned into melanoma in the future. See for yourself:
Don't forget the sunblock. And finally in site news, I put up a RSS feed "Subscribe To" widget on the top right of the page. Anonymous comments are now allowed, but will still be moderated. TTYL! :D
